South Gloucestershire CouncilReehana SayeedOngoing since 2008I’m currently working on a wide range of craft projects, such as Jewellery and Card Making, with Young People throughout South Gloucestershire.
Teesvalley ArtsRowena SommervilleOctober 2008Over the past 2 years I have worked on 6 projects for Gallery TS1 in Middlesbrough, delivering the Arts Award. ‘NEET’ Young People work with professional artists to create art and craft products, and run the gallery shop in the town centre, which showcases their work.

I ran the apprenticeship in Jewellery Design and Production, helping enable Young People to use innovative arts workshops as a springboard into education, training and jobs while gaining a national recognised qualification.
Childrens Play LinkNicky OwenAugust 20092 week activities assistant, working with young people who have Disabilities.

Personal Statement:Over the past 6 years I have specialised in delivering Jewellery Making workshops, using metals, plastics, papers, textiles, polymer clay, beads, glass and slate.

I have experience working with a wide cross section of the community, including ‘At Risk’, and ‘Vulnerable’ Young People/Adults, Disability Groups, Young Offenders, Night Class Learners, Schools and Colleges.

I can offer ‘drop in’ sessions and one off taster days, as well as longer term or certified projects including the Arts Award.

Learners from all backgrounds often gain a real sense of achievement from creating something of a standard ‘you could buy in the shops’ yet made from their own creativity and to their own tastes.

I am often told I have a good report with learners and I pride myself on being adaptable and able to cater for different learning styles and situations in a fun and professional way. Keeping a good balance between working with individuals and the group as a whole.
